About Dental Insurance
Dental insurance is playing an increasingly larger role in helping
people obtain good dental treatment. It is still, however, an aide,
not an all-inclusive coverage plan for dental costs. Every plan is
different. And the less your employer contributes towards your dental
plan, the more you are likely to have to pay towards your treatment.
The best rule of thumb is still to always check
with your insurance before receiving treatment.
We will ask for proof of insurance with
every visit. If there are any changes, it is always the patient's
responsibility to notify the office of any changes.
We will always make recommendations to you based on what we believe
to be the best treatment, regardless of your insurance coverage. It is
your responsibility, as the patient, to deal with your insurance company
and your employer. We will, of course, assist you in any way possible to
assure that you obtain the maximum dental insurance benefits, but we do
not have a direct relationship with your insurance company, or any other
Please do not hesitate to ask questions of your insurance company, of
your employer, or of us about our policies regarding payment, coverage,
services, or fees. We are all here to serve you. Our dental office will
fill out and file all insurance forms for you. There are no fees for
these services. Our goal is for you to be informed of insurance
coverage and expectations so that there will be no surprises.
With that in mind, we ask that our patients and prospective patients
please review our financial policy to
clarify the points made above.
If you are not able to obtain insurance
information due to changes in their coverage, you are still responsible
for that day's treatment. The insurance will then reimburse you based on
their coverage. If you are covered and we are in network, we will
bill the the insurance carrier, but payment for co-pays and deductibles
are still expected at the time of service.
Thank you for your cooperation!
